Senior Research Scientist & Co-Principal Investigator, Complexity Science Lab
Krista English is a Senior Research Scientist and Co-Principal Investigator in the Complexity Science Lab in the School of Population & Public Health at the University of British Columbia. She is also the Co-Director of the WHO Collaborating Centre for Complexity Science for Health Systems (CS4HS).
Dr. English has a PhD (Network Science) and an MBA (Health Care Management), which focus on using organizational complexity theories to understand the network pathways on which research knowledge is translated in a public health agency to develop frameworks for improved evidence-informed policy. She is an applied researcher whose interest in health systems and policy design has supported the advancement of the discipline through innovative program design and strategic collaborations.
Her research interests more largely relate to public health policy design, health promotion, knowledge translation, ethics, equity, social determinants of health, global health, and topics at the intersection of complex systems, health systems and decision-making.
